Navigating letters
The letter pages
Each letter or document is presented on its own page. More detailed information about the letter appears in the META sidebar: links to address, postmarks and endorsements on the original document; to the document source (manuscripts and early printed editions); to the EE source edition; and to different types of notes on the document (authorial, textual, editorial and language notes and longer editorial remarks).
Related documents pages
Many of the letters are related to others. The ENCLOSURES page gives you letters or documents enclosed in the original letter; RELATED DOCS gives other documents that are related in some way; VERSIONS gives different versions of the letter — such as early drafts, or copies, or translations into different languages. Finally, PARENT DOCS allows you to return to the original document you started from.
