Gray manuscripts
In keeping with EE's determination to enrich and enhance content found in the fixed, mise-en-page of its printed base texts, EE has enriched its Thomas Gray correspondence collection by adding detailed manuscript information missing from the standard, Paget Toynbee edition. It isn't clear why Toynbee made only general reference in the preliminaries to his edition of the archives holding Gray letters.
In the years since the Toynbee edition was published, a great deal of valuable work has been done by Alexander Huber and The Thomas Gray Archive (Bodleian Libraries, University of Oxford), and now through a valued collaboration between EE and The Thomas Gray Archive we are able to provide this missing material.
We have provided an example of the manuscript information that has now been added to our Thomas Gray letters.
